Writing for kids

A writer in the gardens

Here’s a typical shot of Ken working outside. Annabel was not impressed. She will not be posing for any more photos. Everyone else was fine with it. In fact, Giraffe rocked up and he’s not even in Ken’s stories.

Ken has written short stories for children’s magazines as well as numerous reviews for online sites such as, Reading with a Chance of Tacos. Ken’s picture book, Annabel’s Chewy Gooey Birthday Cake was a whole lot of fun too.

Shortlisted in awards - Ken's book

Here’s what the critics had to say:
“There’s an energy and visual humour to your story that young children will find very appealing.
It’s a book with true international ‘flavour’ and should travel across markets well.”

Kid’s Book Review

“Not bad.”
Ken’s mum.

SCHOOL VISITS

Melbourne Primary Schools are leading the way!

Ken’s engaging visits are encouraging kids to read and become writers.

“Thank you so much. You are such an engaging speaker. So much more than we expected for an author visit! We will be recommending you to anyone looking for an author.”
Ros Quinn, Library Officer. Eltham Library, Vic.
